The year is 2018, and two naive kids are going on a date for coffee (at 5 pm on a Friday) at Starry Nite cafe. Things were off to a rocky start when Taylor arrived early (for once) and took it upon herself to order a coffee. Evan arrived shortly after, cash in hand, looking to make a splash, only to find out that she had already enjoyed half of her drink.

After Evan ordered and got their first awkward hug out of the way, they sat outside and talked for hours, losing track of time. They talked and laughed about anything and everything until Taylor was freezing (Evan offered his jacket of course), and Evan was running late for hockey. Although they enjoyed each other's company and couldn't stop thinking about each other, they went their separate ways.

Fast forward to 2020, Evan got his own coffee this time, at work, and sat down at his desk for what he thought would be another routine Monday. The office was quiet as always for 9 am on a Monday, especially with an empty desk right across from his. Little did he know, that desk wouldn't be empty much longer. In walked Taylor for her first day at a new job, and low and behold, Evan is the first person she sees (hoping that he doesn't recognize her with the mask, thanks to Covid).

After being introduced to the team she would be working on, Taylor sits at her desk frantically texting her friends about working with Evan, the guy she grabbed coffee with years ago, come to find out, that he sits directly next to her. After a month or so of awkwardness (not surprising if you've ever met these two), they became fast friends commiserating about their workdays together and learning that they have a lot more in common than they thought.

After years of being good friends, Taylor was completing her MBA in May of 2023, and Evan worked up the courage to ask her out to dinner to celebrate her achievement. At dinner, they reminisced on their first date years ago, and realized they wanted a lifetime of coffee dates together.

Now they are here, living happily ever after with a (demon) dog named Fritz, enjoying going wine tasting, golfing, and rooting for the Bills (when they aren't playing the Colts).
